Business and Enterprise (BE Group) worked with Flint Spark Consulting because they needed help to ignite their people by getting their priorities in order (because when people share the big picture they are motivated to make a difference)

Objective of our commission

Flint Spark Consulting was commissioned to review and validate the organisation’s corporate values, to ensure they fit with the brand values; to identify and develop core behaviours.  We were also asked to help to to communicate the vision, values and behaviours to a workforce of over 500 staff.  BE Group were keen to make sure the communication process was engaging and also sustainable.  They wanted the process to be facilitated by their own staff and managers rather than bringing in external facilitators to run the communications sessions.

Our chosen approach

Through focus groups we developed and tested the organisation’s values, and identified behaviours that would provide evidence that the values were being embraced.

Working with BigPicture Learning, a BigPicture Learning Map was then created to enable managers to effectively communicate the values organisation-wide, underpinned by training and support as required.  The BigPicture Learning map was a unique, colourful visual metaphor that shared the big picture of the BE Group business.  It brought BE Group’s core strategy, key business objectives and major change processes to life in a rich, clear and meaningful way.  The BigPicture Learning Map made it possible for BE Group to get everyone up to speed quickly and consistently; energize it’s employees to contribute and reflect on how their roles deliver strategic imperatives.

The BE Group BigPicture Learning Map came with a comprehensive facilitator guide and toolkit to enable a consistently high-quality experience for BE Group facilitators and delegates alike.  The large visually-rich storyboard and dialogue cards enabled leaders and managers to walk through strategy with their people.  A combination of tools, games and exercises combined to engage employees.
