Our client’s aim
British Engines is a leading engineering group working across the globe. Their eight businesses design and manufacture technology leading products for a wide range of industries including the oil and gas, chemical, marine, construction and agriculture sectors. British Engines approached Flint Spark to support them with a major change taking place in their organisation.
Objective of our commission
Flint Spark Consulting was commissioned to support the integration of a new acquisition into the British Engines family of businesses. The additional challenge involved relocating the new business and to co-locate it with an existing British Engines business. We were specifically asked to look at the people challenges the change would involve and to ensure that the cultural element of the change was attended to.
Our chosen approach
We worked with the highly talented management teams at both the newly acquired business and the business they were co-locating with. We help establish and facilitate a “guiding team” composed of a cross-section of managers and staff from across the organisation to provide insights into the hopes and concerns of their colleagues and to, therefore, direct support activities to areas it was most needed.
We are in the process of helping to develop a shared vision for the acquired business and to ensure that that culturally they take advantage of the opportunities the changes present.

Praise for a job well done
We are very pleased. The sessions gave us the insights that we needed, and we now have a much clearer view on how to move forward. We have had several unprompted positive comments this morning from the team saying that they enjoyed the process.
