The team needed support to maintain a high level of teamwork in a context of integrating with another department within the university.
Objective of our commission
Flint Spark Consulting was commissioned to work with the team to develop a clear vision and a set of values to help provide a sense of direction. We were also asked to help the team to deal with some interpersonal challenges that had arisen within the team due to tensions and pressures following the change.
Our chosen approach
We carried out one-to-one interviews with everyone within the team to establish personal perspectives and objectives for the intervention.
Using the information gathered we arranged a series of workshops to help the team to share their hopes and concerns and to develop a common purpose and vision. We used DISC behavioural profiling to help the team members to understand style differences and how this can be a source of conflict and misunderstanding.
